This is the Real Health podcast from Riordan Clinic. And I'm Doctor Ron Henning Hockey, and I'm the chief medical officer here. And not too long ago I had Jason, who is the CEO of Hyatt Life Sciences on and we were we were talking about how a fire plus made such a huge difference in a cancer patient's life. 00;00;42;05 - 00;01;04;25 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And so today we have as our guest, Georgina. And she's going to tell us a little bit about her diabetes story. So welcome, Georgina, and welcome back Jason. Thank you doctor. Yeah. So you were telling me that your diabetes began 20 years ago. Over 28, over 20. And it was a type two diabetes. And you were on medication. 00;01;04;25 - 00;01;07;02 Georgina. Metformin did very well. No problem. 00;01;07;03 - 00;01;11;18 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Helped helped you control it. But then what was it about a year ago or so. 00;01;11;18 - 00;01;29;19 Georgina. That I know it was over a year ago? I one day it didn't work for me and I started gaining weight and I was my sugar went off the charts and my doctor just said, what are you doing? What is happened? What is it? And I said, I don't know. Like he said, the metformin was not working for me anymore and I needed to do something else. 00;01;29;22 - 00;01;52;26 Dr. Ron Hunninghake It's not an unusual story. You know, we're finding that, a large number of people are dealing with type two diabetes, and it's part of something that's being called the metabolic syndrome. The metabolism of the body is not able to process sugar anymore in it, and the blood sugars are going up. And, it seems like over time, they just get higher and higher. 00;01;52;26 - 00;01;59;24 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And pretty soon the metformin type meds, are just not working as well. So what happened when that that occurred? 00;01;59;25 - 00;02;19;22 Georgina. I had an incident at Walmart, and, they were very gentle with me, and, I said this meter. My meter is not working, and I've come to you, to figure this out. It was brand new meter. And she says, well, let me look at it. And she did. And guess what? They came up with the same high numbers. 00;02;19;22 - 00;02;21;08 Georgina. It was 484. 00;02;21;13 - 00;02;23;25 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Your blood sugar was 484. 00;02;23;26 - 00;02;47;03 Georgina. I said, I can't be right. And she says, no, it's working. And that's when she turned to the head, my pharmacist and she said she looked at him. He came around and he says, Mrs. Maloney, let me get you a chair. Nicole, bring this is want a water? And have her sit here and we'll just make sure you're all right. 00;02;47;05 - 00;03;09;10 Georgina. And he used that tone on me. Oh, well, I knew it was. Something was going on. And he called my doctor and my doctor. They wanted to call an ambulance, and my doctor said, no, just have her come over, to the office, which was quite a ways away. And, I want to see her immediately. I'll take a ride in. 00;03;09;12 - 00;03;33;16 Georgina. But getting from my house to there, I got honked at three times. And I'm a good driver. But not that day. Not that. And, I knew something was wrong. My husband said, come to the house immediately and I will. Or pull over on the road. I'll come and get you. Which we hooked up and, he took me straight over to the doctor, and they took blood, and they did that. 00;03;33;17 - 00;03;55;10 Georgina. And that was the first day, you know, I was born like a baby. I was so upset. I didn't feel good, right? I didn't feel good. And, I had a terrible headache. Anyway, he. I started off with six units of insulin, which just devastated me. Just the fact that I was there because I knew it was going to change my life. 00;03;55;13 - 00;04;08;29 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So this is what to put this in doctor terms. You were a type two diabetics and it was responding to the metformin. But after so many years it had progressed. And didn't you tell me you had started to gain some weight? 00;04;08;29 - 00;04;28;13 Georgina. Gain weight? My sugar was up. I'm a real good cook. So I like to cook and I like to bake. And we also my husband and I still working. We own a mobile coffee business and we make we do very well at it and I'm very good at it. And, I like to I like my coffee. 00;04;28;13 - 00;04;32;19 Georgina. I like cafe leches, Cuban coffee. The darker the better. 00;04;32;22 - 00;04;33;18 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah. 00;04;33;20 - 00;04;41;01 Georgina. And, I, I just really needed, But I knew something was wrong. 00;04;41;03 - 00;04;48;20 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So you were shifting from a type two diabetes into a type one, which is sometimes called insulin dependent diabetes. 00;04;48;20 - 00;05;08;08 Georgina. I didn't even like that word dependent because I'd already been dependent on that for months. And now here I am with this insulin. I, me and needles and, you know, sticky myself. And I got, you know, that's what you got and I, I did that, but I have no gallbladder on the right side and I had trouble with my bladder. 00;05;08;08 - 00;05;28;13 Georgina. So this side of my, stomach and everything does not like the insulin. So I, I've used to. I found some sweet spots, so to speak, and that's where I. And I've, I've been I've been doing it. It's just my regimen. I don't have any choice. 00;05;28;16 - 00;05;31;11 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Did the dose of insulin keep going up? 00;05;31;11 - 00;05;54;06 Georgina. Oh, yes. I went from 6 to 70. That seemed to be the only thing I could do is give me more. And, I in the meantime, I had heard about. We have a huge, USF, clinic and, and, studies there is huge in Tampa, Florida, where I moved to a born, raised right here in Wichita. 00;05;54;09 - 00;06;23;25 Georgina. But I lived in Tampa, Florida, and, we just it was just I had to make myself, do what I had to do and what I, I found out is that regimen was my ticket. I doctor mole, and that made Doctor Mole made me write down everything, and I always just flew by it, you know, just whatever, you know, I did. 00;06;23;25 - 00;06;45;11 Georgina. I just did things, you know, I but this was so regimen what I had to do because I found out I had to have direction and I had to keep ledger of what I was doing. And then I had to send these, ledgers suitable. And he would analyze them, and then he would, and he kept increasing my my, 00;06;45;14 - 00;07;07;18 Georgina. Yeah. Well, let me tell you this. When I, came home, I don't fly. I'm a panicky flier, and I always feel like we're all going to die, you know? So I don't fly very often first. But in July of last year, I felt. I felt God telling me that I needed to go home to see my sister. 00;07;07;20 - 00;07;26;20 Georgina. And, we didn't have any special occasion. I just, I just up, I told my husband, make me an appointment. And he was very surprised that I was going to willingly fly. And I went back to see my sister. But I didn't do well on the flight. Was it my eating? And I was so nervous listening for the engine still, still be on. 00;07;26;20 - 00;07;47;29 Georgina. And you know, I'm just real, you know? But when I got off the plane, I went, I was very hungry, and I knew I needed something. I told my sister Celeste, I did. We were divorced, so I never do fast food. You know, as a diabetic, you don't. That's not something you can eat real well. And, we went in there and got something, I went home, we sat out on the porch. 00;07;47;29 - 00;08;11;18 Georgina. She fixed me a great cup of coffee. And by the time I ate that and the coffee, I said to her, I. I don't feel very well. Yeah, I knew something was going on. And I went and I said, people take my blood. And so I did. My machine started alarm. It was blaring and it told me critical, critical go to the you need to go hospital. 00;08;11;18 - 00;08;12;25 Georgina. You know, it was talking to me. 00;08;12;25 - 00;08;16;29 Dr. Ron Hunninghake You thought the machine was broke, but actually your metabolism was broke. 00;08;17;01 - 00;08;36;15 Georgina. And I and it came up and it finally did read. It was 575, you and I, I was just my eyes were bugging out and I was like, I said to my sister, I think you better take me to the emergency and let's check this out. And, when you have these incidents, it's like a fuzzy, cloud. 00;08;36;15 - 00;08;38;14 Georgina. You're you're funky. 00;08;38;20 - 00;08;46;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Now, in medical terms, we call it ketoacidosis, and it is a potentially death causing situation. 00;08;46;05 - 00;09;05;09 Georgina. Well, I knew it wasn't going to be good. You and I, we went to the hospital and they got me calmed down, and they got my sugar down, and they checked all everything about it that was going on. But they let me go. I mean, there was no miracle cure for what I had. I had to just. Yeah, eat what I supposed to. 00;09;05;10 - 00;09;11;03 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And you, you had to do progressively higher amounts of insulin. What was the highest amount that you got it. I got. 00;09;11;06 - 00;09;11;27 Georgina. To 70. 00;09;11;27 - 00;09;20;15 Dr. Ron Hunninghake 70 units, which is a large amount of insulin. Were you still running some fairly high numbers. So the insulin really wasn't doing the. 00;09;20;15 - 00;09;23;16 Georgina. Job once C was 10.3. Wow. 00;09;23;18 - 00;09;28;23 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And normally we'd like to see it around 5 or 6 you know. So that's I. 00;09;28;23 - 00;09;46;26 Georgina. Was I was there I was in bad shape I really was and I was I had enough sense to know it was, you know, so I said, I came home and we were we were getting ready for a friend, Gayle, my friend, known for many years to come over and eat dinner. We had six fabulous dinner, and I made a peach pie. 00;09;46;26 - 00;09;49;04 Georgina. Man, it was so good. But, you know. 00;09;49;04 - 00;09;51;18 Dr. Ron Hunninghake As now we know why your blood sugar is gone. 00;09;51;21 - 00;09;54;20 Georgina. I don't I had a little bit, just. 00;09;54;20 - 00;09;55;28 Dr. Ron Hunninghake A small slice. 00;09;56;00 - 00;09;56;22 Georgina. Well, you know. 00;09;56;25 - 00;10;00;22 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah, yeah. Peach pie. I don't think a small slice homemade. 00;10;00;22 - 00;10;21;24 Georgina. Peach pie is delicious. And, but I said I wasn't eating, and I had, I knew Gail was there, and she was talking, and she was sort of animated, like she was excited about something. I finally looked up at her at the table and I said, what are you going on about? She said, I met a man. 00;10;21;27 - 00;10;42;15 Georgina. And she was really smug about it. And I said, well, tell me about this. What have you done now, Gail? I'm in a band. And I said, well, and she said, I've been she was listening to me when I started. She said, tell me what's going on. I said, tell me about this man. Well, he's a doctor and he's in Palestine. 00;10;42;15 - 00;11;06;05 Georgina. And and they have they're here. They are in Hutchinson. And, she was texting under the table and telling them doc, doctor mole and and doctor saying about my urgency, z z and about I have a friend who's come from Florida and she is in trouble and she needs your help. 00;11;06;11 - 00;11;30;05 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And just may I say that, you know, when you get your insulin up that high, you're running out of options at that point. And if and if it does not come under control, all kinds of bad things could have happened, like loss of eyesight, renal failure. Yeah, all kinds of really serious things. So this is very providence showed you that you ran into someone and what did he have? 00;11;30;08 - 00;11;32;25 Dr. Ron Hunninghake What do you mean what did what did he give you? 00;11;32;27 - 00;11;55;12 Georgina. Well, they said he he said on the text, do you think that she would allow she would come over to Hutchison for an appointment on Monday? I had I was nobody wanted to see me. They couldn't do anything for me. And it was like a peace offering. I felt very calm about this and I felt like I had a direction. 00;11;55;12 - 00;12;14;16 Georgina. So all weekend I had like a day and a half to wait or so I was very excited. My sister came with me, because, I needed support. And Gail came and we met you at the front door. You were there and getting ready to leave, and Gail introduced us to you. And then your father, Doctor Ball right inside. 00;12;14;16 - 00;12;42;09 Georgina. And they just. It was like a normal appointment. You know, Jesus was very round this table, and it was just talking. And they said, well, we would like to be your doctors. You your out of town doctors, but, we'd like to be your doctors. We'd like to help you with this. And we think we have something. They talked about their plant pills and, and, how it was, working and that they needed. 00;12;42;09 - 00;12;53;25 Georgina. And they were very excited about the fact that I had diabetes and that they felt that they might be able to do something for me. Well, nobody could do anything for me. So I really was, you know. 00;12;53;27 - 00;13;00;06 Dr. Ron Hunninghake At the end of your row. Yes. Well, and I heard you say plant pills and so, yeah. 00;13;00;07 - 00;13;03;23 Georgina. Yeah, I was very basic as well. All right. 00;13;03;25 - 00;13;29;00 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, but that is herbs and herbal medicine. You know, this was going on several hundreds of years ago. That's all they would have had to work with is just herbal medicines. Because normally at this stage of diabetes, the, higher and higher insulins just stop working. Yeah. And then the complications of diabetes start showing up. And there's for a lot of people, there's not that much else to do. 00;13;29;01 - 00;13;35;08 Dr. Ron Hunninghake You could go on a very, very strict diet that would not include peach pie. Unfortunately. 00;13;35;10 - 00;13;58;03 Georgina. One little bite doesn't hurt the whole you know, I learned my lesson several times. I'm a hard, very hard headed. But, when you're faced with literally death in front of you, I knew that was coming there, and I had felt it. And I felt like the Lord had led me. People don't maybe think that the Lord plays a part in, but it did for me. 00;13;58;09 - 00;13;59;03 Georgina. It was part of my. 00;13;59;07 - 00;14;13;13 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Let's let's just pause your story. I want to ask Jason, you know, this plant medicine and people don't know about high and life sciences. Could you just tell a little bit more, and then we're going to come back and get the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say. 00;14;13;16 - 00;14;44;15 Jason West Chip. So we, we developed a product called of the five plus, back in 2000, 17 and 18. And then I was actually during Covid, that we started hearing a lot from our, our customers. They were using the five plus product and they said, you know, it's interesting we're using the five plus for different purposes, but we've seen our glucose numbers dropping and we've seen our, need for metformin, doses coming down. 00;14;44;15 - 00;14;59;08 Jason West In fact, several told us they stopped taking their metformin altogether and had no problems. And so that really caught our attention. Obviously, because we know that diabetes in general is a is a problem throughout the country and. 00;14;59;11 - 00;15;00;07 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Throughout the world. 00;15;00;07 - 00;15;37;24 Jason West Around the world. And, and we also know that climbing, you know, as glucose levels climb, it causes lots of other problems. And so it caused us to look at the ingredients a little closer, try to understand what could potentially be going on there. And so we had done some research prior to that, as a matter of fact, and had found some of the compounds that we had sent, we actually developed, some, what I would call developmental drugs, because, you know, another arm of our business is actually drug discovery development. 00;15;37;24 - 00;16;07;27 Jason West And so we developed some compounds that we sent off to, a research organization, down in Phoenix. And they conducted several tests and found that, this compound that we had created has, actually has, at least some impact on, these are murine models. So mouse testing and, it actually increased the number of beta cells in the mouse pancreas. 00;16;07;27 - 00;16;09;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Wow. 00;16;09;04 - 00;16;33;05 Jason West And so that was really surprising research, obviously, because that's not something that we were expecting whatsoever. Yeah. But it, it was these compounds that, ultimately are naturally occurring in what we now think of as the glucose of room product. This is just, again, you know, what the good Lord has given us in these plants? Naturally occurring molecules. 00;16;33;05 - 00;16;43;29 Jason West But we synthesized them and then sent them off to, to the research organization. And lo and behold, that's where we ended up with the glucose are. And. 00;16;44;02 - 00;17;11;24 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, and metformin itself started out as a plant. Most people don't know that, but it's a French lily or some type of flower that they developed metformin from. So it's not it's. Yeah. So it's not unheard of that you would take another plant based product and see that. Oh my gosh this has effect on blood sugar especially when you at your situation Georgina you were at kind of at the end of your rope so to speak. 00;17;11;26 - 00;17;20;17 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And so, so anyway, so I assume you got started on some of this, plant based stuff too today of this. 00;17;20;17 - 00;17;35;04 Georgina. Not within a week. Doctor mole said, I'm gonna put you on three. And then I went to four, and then he said, I feel I feel good about this. I'm going to put you on five. 00;17;35;06 - 00;17;37;07 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Were you checking your blood sugar during that time? 00;17;37;07 - 00;17;55;21 Georgina. Three times a day. And then, the final. What was my sugar at 6:00 each day? Right. And I kept a journal. And that was me. Who? I don't generally do that type of thing. And so I had to be more disciplined. Good. Kind of. I was like a spoiled child, you know, I. 00;17;55;21 - 00;18;04;25 Dr. Ron Hunninghake See a lot of diabetics are not disciplined, and they get really out of control. But you were starting to get some control back up your budget. What was it like, sugar dealing? 00;18;04;28 - 00;18;26;23 Georgina. It was in the 3 to 4 hundreds when I started. And then it. Doctor Mole, he said, I'm watching this. And and now you're into the 2 to 3 hundreds, but high up to the three hundreds, like 297. Now, even I pushed it a little bit, and I did try to work on it, and I felt my eating was a direct result of it. 00;18;26;26 - 00;18;53;22 Georgina. And, I really had to modify my eating, which I did not like, because I have, I like to cook. And I'll, and I have these nine grandchildren who like to come over and we like to cook together. I mean it was just such sure connection. But I began to say no to things and but I, my husband, own the coffee business when we were getting ready to sell it and stuff. 00;18;53;24 - 00;19;11;17 Georgina. But I never gave up on the coffee and the always at first we're talking about maybe you need to get rid of drinking coffee. No, I said, you do know what I do. I'm not getting rid of it. But I did go to decaf. I said, oh, it's delicious. Decaf. And I made it. And, and. 00;19;11;17 - 00;19;19;29 Dr. Ron Hunninghake This is a typical story for someone who's dealing with severe diabetes that, that if they're going to do anything, they have to really start controlling their diet and. 00;19;19;29 - 00;19;44;23 Georgina. Lifestyle. I made a little bit of a switch and I, I didn't use like artificial sweeteners, but I did everything. I started looking at the packages, man. I used to tell a lot about things. When you start looking at them. I couldn't eat cereal anymore. I everything I ate just my sugar. I went completely up, right? I don't eat much bread, which of course I love, but, we found other options. 00;19;44;23 - 00;20;04;04 Georgina. Keto bread and, most of them tasted like chalk, but I still would eat them. And, I didn't put my. My sister is a jelly maker. I didn't put her jelly on them because I really couldn't. But guess what? She also make sugar free jelly. So what I try to do is switch gears a little bit. And, it wasn't easy. 00;20;04;04 - 00;20;17;29 Georgina. This, my past is not even year has been a road that I it it was winding and I wasn't always. You were good but I wasn't always real bad either. 00;20;18;05 - 00;20;30;05 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, and this is the story of type two diabetes, where it goes out of control. People realize they have to control their lifestyle. Yeah. Dietary factors being a major one exercise they. 00;20;30;05 - 00;20;47;05 Georgina. Started walking around and I didn't mind walking so bad, but I would have liked to have had, something in the house to walk on rather than going out, but I didn't mind it that much. But I'd and I but I did do it. Yeah. Surprised my family that I did it because I'm not much into exercise. 00;20;47;05 - 00;21;07;18 Georgina. I don't believe in sweating and all that. I don't like that. But I did the I did the regimen sort of, but sort of my way. And I went out. So you know what I found out? I found out while I was walking, I talked to God and I talked about situations and because my diabetes caused situations in the family. 00;21;07;21 - 00;21;10;14 Georgina. Because they didn't start cooking the stuff. 00;21;10;16 - 00;21;10;29 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah. 00;21;11;01 - 00;21;28;04 Georgina. And my grandkids still wanted the cookies and I had to really advance. I had to make them aware that I, this was my lifestyle now and that they were going to also have to work with me on it because I needed help. 00;21;28;07 - 00;21;36;05 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So but you were making lifestyle changes, exercise, dietary changes, but you were saying that the blood sugar was still running pretty high. 00;21;36;10 - 00;21;41;15 Georgina. Yeah. I but I got to at six of the pills a day also. 00;21;41;15 - 00;21;42;28 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Then when you went up on your. 00;21;42;28 - 00;22;04;25 Georgina. At one more doctor. I don't normally do that. I said well bring it on, I got no choice. So we did. But I had trouble, you know, I had to take other things. And so each day now I put my first thing I do is get my coffee fixed, and then I put my pills out and make sure I have all my pills and the six of them. 00;22;04;27 - 00;22;22;25 Georgina. And I had to work out every day, went by them. You know, I would take a pill and I would do what I had to do at that time to get them all down. And, I could check it off. So, I mean, it was very visible that they were still on the table. And so I worked at it. 00;22;22;28 - 00;22;26;05 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Was as you were progressively increasing the dose, my. 00;22;26;05 - 00;22;27;10 Georgina. Sugar went down. 00;22;27;10 - 00;22;30;20 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So tell me about that. So you were at 300 plus. 00;22;30;20 - 00;22;48;04 Georgina. Yeah. And I went down to 200 plus. But it was more in the two 50s now. Yeah. And getting down and and it was, it was not fast. It was slow. But remember I started out at ten, my A1 seemed 10.3. 00;22;48;06 - 00;22;52;17 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Right? Right. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. Oh my gosh, dangerously high. 00;22;52;18 - 00;23;19;05 Georgina. Oh yes. And it came down through. Since then I'm at about 8.7, but that's still high. But believe me, from what it was I'm able to function and, I'm, I'm doing much better. And then it went down. But my I'm at a new doctor. Because I had to I had my doctors here and they were keeping watch over me. 00;23;19;05 - 00;23;45;11 Georgina. But then I for seven months it took me to get into USF endocrinology diabetes. And I got a really good doctor. Lord blessed me and guided me to this woman. She doesn't know it but I know it. And when I went in there she basically said your mess. It was a two hour, my first meeting with her, it was two hours. 00;23;45;13 - 00;23;59;24 Georgina. She wanted me to do seven different labs and, but when I got back they were all in doctor script and I said, how what is this? What is this? And she said, well, the doctor will know. I said, but no, I want to know what it is now. I want to know. And she said, these are the ones. 00;23;59;24 - 00;24;21;17 Georgina. It's checked off. She said, this is why I know. And then one day she said, well, she sent me a text to my it's called my chart and everybody that if you have a my chart with USF, everybody knows what's going on with you. Right. Because you've allowed it, you know, you've given them access. Well, she says I'm re diagnosing you. 00;24;21;21 - 00;24;27;16 Georgina. What is different classification from a type one to a type two. And I'm like. 00;24;27;18 - 00;24;45;21 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So you've gone from a type two to a type one. Type one means insulin dependent. Yeah. And that had gone almost totally out of control 500 or so on your blood sugar. And then but now with the, the, the six pills a day of the of the arm and come back down and to. 00;24;45;23 - 00;25;08;08 Georgina. Well then I was in the now before I came, I was in the two hundreds and she was very excited my doctor. But one thing I want to interject with you. I told her about these pills. She was very interested, and I told that my doctor was from Palestine, and she kind of bugged out and she said, well, I'm from Palestine too. 00;25;09;15 - 00;25;19;22 Georgina. And I thought, oh, Lord, what have you done? Thank you, thank you. Yeah, I mean, it. I mean, it's just like it was a miracle. And she said, tell me more about this. 00;25;19;25 - 00;25;29;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Just to switch to Json again, though. So the source of the arm is from Palestine. And this is not this is not a new discovery. 00;25;29;07 - 00;25;47;05 Jason West Not in Palestine. It's well known in that part of the world. And it's a plant that grows wild. And it's used for a variety of different things. Yeah. And so it they, they pick it and then there's a root kind of like almost a potato and they chop it and then put it into a tea. 00;25;47;10 - 00;26;15;00 Jason West Yeah. And they use it for just a whole host of different things. I don't know if, if diabetes is actually one of them. Right. But we do know that some of the other ingredients in the FDA plus product are, you know, at least have some of the chemicals or the phytochemicals or the the botanical nutrients, that we think are somewhat active, at least in the studies we did down there. 00;26;15;00 - 00;26;15;28 Jason West So, yeah. 00;26;16;00 - 00;26;49;21 Dr. Ron Hunninghake No, I was what this was of interest to me, I can kind of show this. Maybe people will see it. But there's a book called The Cellular Wellness Solutions by Doctor Bill Rawls to, also be he was a doctor, and he had to stop practicing because of his chronic fatigue. And he started looking into herbal remedies. And what he found is that there's a whole new explosion of research in what's called phytonutrients, or phytochemicals that are present in these different herbs, and they have multiple functions within the body. 00;26;49;21 - 00;27;05;12 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So you're not just taking care of one symptom or one abnormal lab test. They actually help the body as a whole to heal and to start functioning better. So I might ask you, were you feeling better as you were taking. Yes. 00;27;05;15 - 00;27;30;20 Georgina. Yes, I was the the seed. The tea was saying that I'm not a net person. I became a net person. I just was so tired I had to get my now. Not a long time, but I had to go then. I mean, I just could not function, and, I'm not doing that so much anymore. I feel like I am gaining, but my doctor said. 00;27;30;23 - 00;27;48;15 Georgina. I said, I'm so excited. My sugar. That day I went in, it was 219 or something, and I was like, oh yes. And she says, well, this is, this is much better from where you were, but we want you in the one hundreds. Yeah. And I'm like, oh my Lord, I had not seen 100. 00;27;48;17 - 00;27;49;06 Dr. Ron Hunninghake For a long time. 00;27;49;08 - 00;27;55;04 Georgina. Yeah. Just I mean I mean that was like so not going to be there. 00;27;55;06 - 00;27;56;10 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Are you there yet. 00;27;56;12 - 00;27;57;18 Georgina. I get there. 00;27;57;21 - 00;27;59;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake You have some 100 readings. 00;27;59;02 - 00;27;59;26 Georgina. Yes I do. 00;28;00;04 - 00;28;02;24 Dr. Ron Hunninghake How many of the, five are you taking now? 00;28;02;28 - 00;28;03;27 Georgina. I still take six. 00;28;03;27 - 00;28;05;22 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Six a day. Six a day? 00;28;05;27 - 00;28;07;27 Georgina. I do what they say mostly. 00;28;07;29 - 00;28;10;19 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And you're watching your your food intake. 00;28;10;19 - 00;28;12;02 Georgina. You have any other choice anymore? 00;28;12;02 - 00;28;18;06 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah. So you have to watch your carbohydrates and you're eat. Are you eating more vegetables, fruits and things like that. 00;28;18;06 - 00;28;36;22 Georgina. Well, I, I, I have the meat and well doctor Miss Ma, she said you can order to start introduce a little bit more carbs in your in your. And I know you like to bake. There is no reason why you can't bake a little bit more. But when she said that I my head was just like yes, and I did. 00;28;36;24 - 00;28;50;10 Georgina. I didn't do well. I was baking and carving and so my sugar was going up again and I slice it, oh, I'm not going to be able to do that. I got to go back. Yeah. To behaving myself. 00;28;50;13 - 00;28;59;03 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So we're not portraying this plant based treatment as the end all and be all. Yes. You still have to do make good, better choices. 00;28;59;04 - 00;29;25;24 Georgina. There's no quick fix. No there's no quick end. There's nothing. This is just something that I. And I feel the Lord let me do it. And, a few other things. I just, I really believe, that I try to surround myself with things that are make me feel positive, whether it be my pearls or whether it be my, grandchildren. 00;29;25;24 - 00;29;49;20 Georgina. They give me such positive vibes and, I, I'm not real good with I'm a people person. But during this, I kind of backed off people because I wasn't sure of how. I mean, and I'm not being I'm sure that people for ever. I mean, I run a coffee business where all I do is with people, but now I don't go to the grocery store a lot. 00;29;49;22 - 00;30;18;24 Georgina. I don't like confrontation. And I had a terrible time during the, the disease pandemic. Yeah. The pandemic. Yeah. I, I, I got really anxious when I had to wear the mask. So the church asked me to leave one day when I was in church because I had pulled my mask down because I couldn't breathe. And I said, up then you need to change your ways because I'm not ever come back into you. 00;30;18;26 - 00;30;41;07 Georgina. I didn't like my church doing that. I thought they were being so radical about things. I mean, I can't breathe, and you're wanting to make me go. I says I'm going, but it's with prejudice. I want to hold my presence. Right. But you know what? I don't have to have my church to pray. I just have to have confidence in it was the Lord. 00;30;41;07 - 00;30;51;22 Georgina. It got. And my friends, very good friends that are Christians, surrounded by it. I didn't know I had so many Christian friends, but some White Castle too. Yeah. 00;30;51;24 - 00;31;06;21 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah, well, you're using a combination of lifestyle and a combination of conventional medicine in terms of controlling your diabetes. But what I kind of hear you saying is your anxiety level went down, your sense of well-being improved. 00;31;06;21 - 00;31;26;02 Georgina. Be really careful with my anxiety because it affected the blood pressure, and they always want to give me blood pressure medicine. I don't handle blood pressure as well. Yeah. So you have to know what works for you. And I said, I just, recently was in the hospital right after the last day of the show, and I was headed home. 00;31;26;05 - 00;32;01;19 Georgina. I had a terrible pain in my side. And, I ended up going to the hospital, and my anxiety because I was anxious, was high, and that made my blood pressure go up. They put me on a heart monitor. I said, you'll have heart problems, but we have to be careful. I said, okay, but you know. But I said to them, I remember that I'm on insulin because seems like when I go into the hospital that they don't ever recognize about the how much the diabetes is part of my life, and they wouldn't let me take any of my pills or anything. 00;32;01;19 - 00;32;23;25 Georgina. So I was a little bit more anxious because I didn't have a six pill sitting there. But you know what? They were, they were so patient with me that my anxiety came down and they found out what was wrong with me. And now I'm on other to ask for new doctors. And you know what I, I didn't push them away. 00;32;23;25 - 00;32;50;03 Georgina. I was like oh I embrace that and you know, what are you doing it. I'm going to a new doctor. But you know what I, I also expect a certain level with my doctors. I expect them to be good to me, patient with me. Don't yell at me, because guess what? I will yell back at you. I don't I don't like that in situations out in the public. 00;32;50;05 - 00;33;10;03 Georgina. All right. One woman said, you know, you should be wearing your mask up higher. And I said, you back because I don't handle this. Well, you know, I'm barely able to breathe. And I'm in there trying to buy something that I really want to get. And I, got what I wanted. And you know what she did? She backed off. 00;33;10;05 - 00;33;11;13 Georgina. You know, you can't do that. 00;33;11;13 - 00;33;22;00 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, you're not alone, because the estimate is that maybe 70, maybe even 80% of the world is dealing now with insulin resistant diabetes or pre-diabetes. 00;33;22;01 - 00;33;23;20 Georgina. I my brother died of it. 00;33;23;27 - 00;33;55;20 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yes, eight years ago. So. And and a lot of what's happened in modern medicine is it's shifted from acute care. Now we're dealing with all these chronic diseases and oftentimes blood sugar problems. Is is one of the root causes. Everything dietary factors. But then it sets up the stage for Alzheimer's for osteoarthritis, degenerative diseases, psychological problems. And the beauty of the phytonutrient approach, which is an adjunctive approach to modern medicine. 00;33;55;20 - 00;34;24;09 Dr. Ron Hunninghake And doctors aren't trained much in this, but I think a fire is making a difference in helping people. I've met the medical profession, see that there is a scientific basis to using the holistic benefits of an herb that has very powerful, vital nutrients in it. Back to phytonutrients. These phytonutrients don't just work on one thing. They help the diabetes standard control, but they help your brain calmer or to be more clear, they help your joints to be healthier. 00;34;24;09 - 00;34;42;23 Georgina. No, when I'm fuzzy or I feel that fog, I know that and I have a headache. I know immediately my shirt is up. And I need to work on it. I have maybe I haven't taken my all my medicine or, What? I did not eat that. Another piece of pie. I just I can't do that anymore. 00;34;42;23 - 00;34;44;25 Georgina. You know why? Makes me sick. 00;34;44;27 - 00;35;14;24 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, you're learning to pay attention to your body and make better choices. And this is all part of something called the metabolic syndrome. And you're not the only one. You know, it's it's, it's just, it's taking over the planet. And so what's exciting about this particular product and, and just your story is that it should give people hope that if they open their eyes and take a broader look at what can be done, because most people assume if I just get the right medicines, everything's going to be fine. 00;35;14;27 - 00;35;20;29 Dr. Ron Hunninghake This is ancient medicine, I guess it's in Palestine. It's goes back thousands of years, at least. 00;35;20;29 - 00;35;22;12 Jason West 1100 years, as far as we could tell. 00;35;22;12 - 00;35;45;14 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah, yeah. And so, so today what I'm, I'm, I appreciate you coming on and and telling your story to us, but I wanting our wanting our audience to know that there is hope for a number of the complications of diabetes and as well as better control of the diabetes itself. And so what a great story. And I think your faith definitely shows. 00;35;45;14 - 00;35;47;07 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Got to have got to have faith. 00;35;47;09 - 00;36;14;27 Georgina. Well, he hasn't let me down. He took me on a few flights that were pretty easy. But I'm telling you, I just prayed my way through it and the and I think that keep in mind, I have I have a really good relationship with my family and, I had to really work on a lot of things that I have maybe let go a little bit, you know, and my family and my faith and my eating, you know, this good cook syndrome, right? 00;36;14;27 - 00;36;28;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Right, right. Yeah. So, Jason, is there other things that this room is enhancing in addition to glucose control? We mentioned that today. What other sort of things can people expect from this line? 00;36;28;04 - 00;36;34;25 Jason West I think you definitely would see some mental clarity, as well. That's one that we have, that there is a link because the. 00;36;34;25 - 00;36;37;12 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Greatest fear the people have now is losing their minds. 00;36;37;15 - 00;36;46;11 Jason West Yeah. And those are the, the main, I think things that we observed at least and heard from our customers about for sure. So. 00;36;46;13 - 00;36;55;02 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Well, thank you both for coming on the, Real Help podcast. And thank you. Keep working. You know, you know, we've also got direction. 00;36;55;04 - 00;37;07;17 Georgina. Yes. You have a sense of what what has worked for me. And so I didn't really have that before. I was just willy nilly going all over everything. And now I feel like I have. I met a man. 00;37;07;19 - 00;37;12;09 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Oh my gosh, these pills really are good. 00;37;12;11 - 00;37;21;15 Georgina. And, I'm telling you, it was it was magical. I mean, I was just like, I didn't have anybody else wanting to see me. 00;37;21;17 - 00;37;41;26 Dr. Ron Hunninghake So your sense of self-confidence and your ability to live and to enjoy life more and to take part in people relationships, because it sounds like you were getting pretty dug in with the anxiety and all that. So. So that's great. Yeah. Well, thank you for having the courage to come on and tell your story for us. And I was. 00;37;41;26 - 00;37;42;26 Georgina. So nervous about. 00;37;42;26 - 00;37;43;13 Dr. Ron Hunninghake It. Yeah. 00;37;43;20 - 00;38;00;28 Georgina. I didn't want how I wanted people to really hear what I had to say, but not, you know, not everybody will listen to it and get well. I hear my words. What I'm actually saying. And it did work well, and it is working for me. But there's just me. 00;38;01;00 - 00;38;22;16 Dr. Ron Hunninghake Yeah. When people get that far into their diabetes, you know, the options are running out. So you were able to get to that really dangerous point, but you've been able to bring yourself back with the help of this and, and your doctors and, and better lifestyle choices and your family and your faith. So thank you both for being on your program today. 00;38;22;18 - 00;38;23;27 Jason West Thank you. Thank you so much. 00;38;24;04 - 00;38;24;27 Georgina.
